Scholarships

Very recently, we established a Scholarship System with various scholarship opportunities to help our students, who want to reduce their expenses while studying at the International Baduk Academy.

Currently we have the following scholarship types:

• High-level player scholarship

To earn this kind of scholarship the aspirant should be among the strongest students of the International Baduk Academy so he has to be at least at the level of an european 5 or 6 dan. Furthermore it is asked of the holder of such a scholarship to help the weaker players improve their game by reviewing and commenting their games. The holder of a high-level player scholarship receives a discount on the fee for studying and lodging.

• Working scholarship

Since there is a lot of work to be done around the academy we offer a working scholarship to students who might want to earn a discount on the fee for studying and lodging. The amount of the discount depends on how much time the aspirant is willing to spend and on the kind of work he is willing to do.  For further information about the kind of work please inquire via e-mail.

• IBA scholarship

This is a special kind of scholarship. It depends on a lot of special circumstances and can not be easily earned. If the aspirant is for example a very talented player and might even become professional than Professor Lee Ki Bong might be inclined to offer him the IBA scholarship. A holder of an IBA scholarship stays at the IBA for free to support him in his studies. Since it is hard to tell if somebody is eligible for this kind of scholarship without knowing him it is more likely to earn this scholarship after staying some time at the IBA.

• Special scholarship

This kind of scholarship depends on outside sponsors who are willing to pay for the student to stay and study at the acadamy. It is obvious that those scholarships go to a very limited amount of people.  Also it is more likely to get a special scholarship after the student stayed some time at the acadamy and Professer Lee Ki Bong or even the sponsor himself got to know the aspirant.
