About the IBA:

The International Baduk Academy, or IBA is a new yongusil (Baduk School) in Seoul, created by professor Lee Ki-Bong korean 7 dan amateur player.

In the past years Lee Ki-bong travelled to Europe several times, teaching and playing baduk. Ever since then he wanted to invite foreign players to Korea to study and get strong at this wonderful game.

Finally, in January 2008 his dream has been fulfilled, he opened his own Baduk School in Seoul for foreigners. As the school is already up and running, he is searching for players from all over the world who are willing to come to Korea and study baduk here.

If You always wanted to become really strong at baduk but never  had the time or the opportunity to study seriously, or if your dream is to become a professional baduk player, then you have come to the right place!

If baduk is one of your favourite hobbies and You’d like to improve Your play to impress your friends while exploring the far-East culture at Korea, please contact us, too. No matter how old, what rank, or what nationality are you, we welcome you.

Pricing:

The fee for staying at the IBA at the moment is 500 Euro per month including accomodation (300 Euro without accomodation). This can be reduced by applying for discounts or scholarships.

Discount Options:

We now offer several kinds of discounts. All of them amount to a 10% reduction on the normal price, but you can only apply for 2 of them (max. 20% reduction):

Kids-Discount: For kids under 16

Group-Discount: For groups of 3 or more people

Winter-Discount: For the time between 1st November and  31st March

Prepayment-Discount: If you pay your first monthly payment at least three months before you arrive.

Longterm-Discount: Beginning from your 4th month at the IBA you can receive this discount.

Generally, discounts can only apply if you are not receiving a scholarship, but in special cases further discounts may be negotiated. Please be aware that these discount offers may change without further notice.
